In the first semester of 2022, Nuevo León received $2.7 billion USD in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) flows, which represents a growth of 45% compared to the same previous period.

This positions the region as the first to receive the largest flow of FDI in Mexico, only after Mexico City, and represents 34% of the total flow received in the country.

The sectors that led this growth were the automotive, home appliances, electrical generation equipment and metal products.

From October 2021 to August 2022, 90 FDI projects were confirmed in Nuevo León, of which 47 are new investments and 43 are company expansions. They are investments for more than 4 billion USD, which may represent the creation of more than 46,000 new jobs.
