Northern Region

The traditional flavor of the norteños

This land is the birthplace of our regional cuisine, with dishes like the famous cabrito al pastor (spit-roasted goat meat) and the semitas de Bustamante, seetbread legacies of the Colonial Era.

If you’re traveling from north to south , you might want to hunt in Anáhuac, visit the Museum of Weapons in Lampazos and explore the mysterious Bustamante grottos. Don’t miss the Temple of San José with its gold-leaf covered churrigueresque altarpiece, located in Sabinas Hidalgo.

Find refreshment in El Sabinal Natural Park of Cerralvo. There you can spend a peaceful afternoon in the shade of huge 500-year-old juniper trees.

Sport fishermen should head to El Cuchillo, the largest water reservoir for human use in Latin America, located in the municipality of China, Nuevo León.
