Education is a priority in Nuevo León. We know that to be a richer and fairer society, our schools must be better and our youth must dedicate more years of studying. The state government dedicates half of its budget to education.
We have 150 technical high schools with over 30,000 students.
At a graduate and postgraduate level, three of the most important universities of Latin America are in Nuevo León: the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León, the Universidad de Monterrey and the Tecnológico de Monterrey. All three receive thousands of students from México and other countries.
We have a section devoted to help people find every junior college and college program in the state and information on scholarships: Sistema de Consulta de Opciones Educativas.
Our population above age 15 has studied up to the first year of high school, on average. 81,398 people cannot read or write.

30% of the people in Nuevo León are students. There are over 30,000 in 150 diploma level schools and 100,000 in universities. There are almost 200,000 children enrolled in preschool.

60.3% of 6th grade students and 61% of 9th grade students expect to complete an undergraduate degree.
There are 2,647 preschools, 2,567 elementary, 821 secondary and 278 high schools in the state.
If we compare the amount of people of the corresponding age and the ones that are going to school, we see that we could have more students in preschool, secondary and high school.
