Nuevo Leon’s culture is very diverse: we’re proud of norteño music, the poetry of Alfonso Reyes, the traditional carne asada on weekends and our parks. Our art scene is one of the most active of the country.
A lot of Nuevo León’s regional music has its origin in Central Europe and was brought by mercenaries of the French army. The instruments are usually German and the rhythms are Czech and Polish.
Food in Nuevo León is practical and delicious. Here, agriculture developed after livestock breeding, which is why many typical dishes are based on beef, goat, and milk. Other important ingredients are corn and wheat.
